Hmong Stripe Doll

The White Hmong and Stripe Hmong have origins and are both close dialects understood mutually. However, the clothing between White Hmong and Stripe Hmong has some differences. One of the main characteristics that differ is the sleeves which have stripes circling them. They can generally be found in blue but also different colors. Additionally, the transition to black straight long pants in male and female clothing from the white skirt differs between White Hmong and Stripe Hmong clothing. Hats can be seen as a cylindrical shape with embroidery encircling the circumference. The belt can also be described as hlab nyiaj, translated into a money belt. In the past, these coins traditionally consisted of the French Indochina coins but there has been a transition to fake coins modernly (Hatch-Surissok, 2023).
